About Shuning Yang

As a graduating pre-service teacher, I am actively seeking opportunities to be a casual relief teacher. I started VCE in Year 11 and had first-hand experience of how to cope with it. I enrolled in both further maths, maths methods and specialist maths and achieved an ATAR of 83.70. During my undergraduate study, I chose to pursue mathematics to strengthen my academic expertise. I have progressed in the fields of calculus, statistics, linear algebra and data analysis, equipping me with the knowledge to support high school students in their study of mathematics. In addition, I also took a wide range of elective courses, so I am well placed to provide fundamental support to students within multiple subjects. As a native Chinese speaker, I studied Chinese systematically for 11 years as a student, and also studied contemporary and classical Chinese literature as part of my undergraduate studies. During my Master's studies, I developed my professional skills and competencies as a teacher. I have acquired a fairly wide range of teaching strategies and techniques and have proven them to be useful to me through my time in placements. In terms of competencies, I possess a well-developed ability to work with colleagues and teams, my mentor commented that "She possesses an enthusiastic nature and makes warm and genuine connections with everyone." I am eager to use my teaching skills and mobility in a Casual Relief teacher position. My background allows me to take responsibility in my work and I will contribute to bringing a rewarding classroom and environment to students.
