About Shunta McBride

Shunta has carefully crafted her practice to assist clients in the areas of law she enjoys most: estate planning, probate and real estate. Shunta concentrates her practice on drafting estate plans, opening and administering estates in probate court, and representing clients in all matters of real estate transactions where it impacts their overall estate plan. She also counsels clients on how the probate process, when coupled with real estate conveyancing, can clear title to heirs' property. Shunta founded her own estate planning and probate law firm, The Law Office of Shunta V. McBride, LLC, in 2017. After practicing for five years as a solo practitioner, Shunta closed her solo practice in order to join MendenFreiman LLP as Counsel in 2022, where she now practices today. Shunta brings to her estate planning practice over 10 years of transactional experience as a commercial real estate lawyer, most recently for one of the world’s largest business law firms, DLA Piper LLP (US). While at DLA Piper, she played a significant role on the legal team that represented a Major League Baseball team in its relocation, acquisition and development of land for a new baseball park and adjacent mixed-used development in metro Atlanta. Her early work experience includes clerking for the Hon. U.W. Clemon (Ret.), formerly of the United States District Court in Birmingham, Alabama. Shunta also worked in summer accounting and investment banking programs at Ernst & Young and J.P. Morgan, respectively. Shunta brings a wealth of knowledge to clients seeking to use real estate to create and transfer wealth, and she understands the significance of real estate in a client’s portfolio. She works hard to ensure that clients protect, preserve, and transfer this significant asset by delivering efficient estate planning solutions. Shunta grew up in Talladega, Alabama and graduated from The University of Alabama (Accounting, 2001) and The University of Alabama School of Law (J.D, 2004). Her volunteer work includes working with Georgia Appleseed to launch in 2016 the Georgia Heirs Property Law Center, the first nonprofit of its kind in Georgia.
