About Shwetha Srinivasan

Greetings to my digital Avengers! I consider myself the 'Iron Man' of software engineers – occasionally creating my own 'Ultron' of bugs. But fear not, I wield an arsenal of software tools to vanquish those digital foes and keep the code universe in balance. I have had the opportunity to work at different ends of the computer science world before discovering my home in it. I have worked and interned in projects centric to data processing and analysis and have also taken keen interest in upcoming technologies such as quantum computing as part of my Master thesis at the University of Melbourne. I discovered that I enjoyed competitive coding and application development the most and have continued down that path since. I work as a software engineer with Telstra focusing on application development using Angular and JAVA microservices. Over the last year and a half Telstra has given me the right opportunities to learn about consumer requirements and the role of software in customer engagement. I am always keen to learn more and expand my horizons into the unknown territories of the digital world. Outside of my obligations towards my profession, I am very passionate about the role women play in technical growth and software forums, I am a proud member of the Women in Software Engineering (WISE) community at Telstra. I felt extremely proud to have won the Telstra Energy Hackathon, 2022 with an all-women's team. I enjoy participating in hackathons and crying over a game of chess.
