About Shwetha Sukumar

I am currently undertaking a PhD research project at Monash University as part of the RISE program and will be studying household enteric pathogen transmission and exposure in informal settlements in Fiji and Indonesia. I am passionate about learning about the intricate connections between people, places, and cultures, and how these things shape our perspectives and interactions with the world, particularly in the context of public health, ecology and sustainable development. In the years that I have been able to study, work and volunteer, I have I have drawn experience in utilising my abilities to work cohesively in a team and be supportive to people in the community. From my resume you will gather that I have always been an ardent student; a keen learner working hard to excel in all spheres and my numerous achievement awards through high school are an indication of that. I have been highly commended for, and take pride in my strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and my initiative to independently take on responsibilities, completing tasks given to me with the utmost care and attention to detail. I am comfortable with and can effectively communicate with others, being comfortable in changing situations and understanding the need to remain flexible.
