My academic journey has been driven by a deep commitment to environmental stewardship.I offer a competitive skillset that includes:• Technical proficiency: I have experience with environmental site assessments, statistical analysis, and report writing, grounded in BC’s environmental guidelines and legislation. I am also proficient in Microsoft Office and ESRI products, enhancing my data analysis and report creation skills. I have written various technical reports based on my own research including on whitebark pine distributions, riparian and fish habitat assessments, and water quality assessments based on groundwater contamination potential. • Environmental monitoring: I have conducted air and emissions, biological, and solids test sampling using various methodologies. I am proficient in monitoring and assessing pollution and contamination in accordance with BC’s contaminated site regulations. I have performed soil, water, and air sampling and analysis, as well as basic wastewater sampling protocol. • Fieldwork: I am competent at applying Land Management Handbook and field guides for surveying and monitoring across various ecological facets, including hydrology, silviculture, and geology.• Instruments and lab work: I am proficient in using many standard field equipment such as GPS, pH meter, turbidity meter, dissolved oxygen meter, and standard chemistry lab equipment. Following data collection my lab experience includes testing to analyze pollution using toxicity bioassays, quantitative analysis of metals, computer modelling, and nutrient tests.My prior career in hospitality, and various roles in agriculture and quality assurance have honed my organizational, leadership, and collaborative skills, making me versatile and adaptable. I enjoy the outdoors, including skiing, mountain biking, and hiking. These activities have increased my appreciation for the natural beauty and diversity of the Kootenays and have motivated me to pursue a career in the environmental science realm.
