I am a journalist-turned-content marketer with 7+ years of experience. This spans reporting and editing stories for a newspaper and writing for B2B SaaS companies. Journalism has helped my writing and storytelling set apart. It has taught me to- Write enticing hooks - Use simpler and familiar language - Convey message in a clear, concise way - Deliver quality content within tight deadlines - Use right tone and style to manage brand perception During journalism, I reported from five Indian States. The most thrilling part was covering the conflict zones of Bastar in Chhattisgarh. And then tracking the reverse migration, sparked by the covid-19-induced lockdown, in Madhya Pradesh. At 17, after graduating from school, I landed my first job at McDonald's as a crew member. There I learnt the skills of communication and understood the value of labor and team work. Later, I also worked as a tour guide in New Delhi, while still in college. While being a journalist, I volunteered to teach communication skills at a school in Bhopal for a year. These experiences gave me transferrable strengths that I use to be a better writer. These include empathy, humility, storytelling and the knowledge of audience preferences. Apart from writing, I like to read fiction and play sports. For almost 10 years now, I have been working on improving my strength and conditioning. Long-distance running is a sport I particularly enjoy. After four half-marathons, my personal best is 2 hours 5 minutes.
