About Sidney Howlett

With an MEd in Environmental and Sustainability Education, a background as a classroom teacher, and over 5 years of experience in environmental NGOs, I am passionate about leveraging education to drive meaningful climate action. Most recently, I led the development and successful launch of the board-level climate action program at EcoSchools Canada, empowering school boards across Canada to integrate comprehensive climate leadership into their operations through a whole-institution approach. I also served as a contract lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University, teaching Environmental Education during the fall semester and inspiring future educators to foster climate resilience in their classrooms. I remain actively engaged in research, with my most recent publication available here: climatechangelearningcanada.org. Currently on maternity leave with my twin boys, I continue to stay connected to the climate change education space and am open to select opportunities that align with my expertise. I offer freelance services for businesses and higher education institutions, focusing on climate change education, climate emotions, and whole-institution climate action planning. Let’s connect!
