Background

About Sienna Leduc

I am a graduate of Nazareth College in Rochester, where I studied History and Adolescent Education, and the University at Albany where I received my MA in Social Studies. I currently have my initial certification in both social studies and special education. I bring a diverse background of experience to the table. I have worked full time on a residential campus for boys with moderate to severe developmental disabilities and autism (‘07-08). I have observed and student taught in a wide range of schools in the Rochester area, and I have also studied abroad in Germany as an interned at the Nelson Mandela International School in Berlin, Germany in 2010. Two years later I was invited back to complete half of my student teaching at the same school (Oct-Dec 2012). My first teaching position in the states was at Green Tech High Charter School (Feb 2013-June 2016), where I had the incredible opportunity to work in both my certification areas with young urban men of color. As a recent graduate I am well informed about current philosophies and methods being used in classrooms today. I consider myself to be a teacher who focuses on the whole student with the ultimate goal of producing critically thinking and active citizens of the world.
