About Sierra Wilson

I have 8 years of biomedical research experience and am set to complete my PhD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in October 2025. My current research focuses on the role of diploid and polyploid hepatocytes in acetaminophen-induced acute liver injury, utilizing mouse models and molecular techniques to explore the underlying mechanisms. I am proud to have secured 2 NIH grants to support my independent research and have published a comprehensive review on liver polyploidy, contributing to the growing body of knowledge in this field. Additionally, I regularly contribute to peer-reviewed publications and have presented my findings at both national and local conferences, where I’ve been honored with 6 Outstanding Poster Awards. Beyond my academic research, I completed an internship with Clinical Research Strategies, where I gained valuable experience in regulatory affairs and clinical research. I applied my skills in quality assurance and technical writing to regulatory affairs and clinical research projects, which enhanced my understanding of the practical applications of biomedical research. I am eager to leverage my expertise in hepatocyte biology and liver metabolism to make a meaningful impact in the field of life sciences.
