Background

About Sieske Valk

I am passionate about facilitating deep and meaningful conversations, connecting people and improving the Quality of Life for humans and non-human animals alike. One of my goals in life is to make sure all pets receive a dignified and as comfortable as possible Death once the time comes. The other is to see an increased and more diverse uptake of cycling. With a Squiggly career and growth mindset, I enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment. And as a highly disciplined and communicative person who can adapt to different stakeholders, I thrive whilst working on sensitive subjects. Previous colleagues have coined the verb ‘Sieskematising ’for my way of working: Efficient, structured, systematic and easy to work with. Plotting to leave The Big Smoke for the South-West of England in the near future, thus being open to opportunities in the public sector, climate change adaptation, veterinary sector or non-profit sector in that geographical area (or remote). I'm always open to public speaking opportunities around and being a podcast guest who talks about geriatric veterinary care, End-of-Life communication for the veterinary professional/client and harnessing a strong self-care routine for palliative carers.
