About Sigert de Jean

In my forties, with two musically trained ears and a mind brimming with acoustical knowledge, I proudly wear the hats of an acoustic consultant and audio producer. I spent a decade carving my path as an independent musician and dedicated several years to honing my skills as a sound engineer for national radio and tv stations. Now, my primary mission is to share the wealth of knowledge I've amassed about the world of sound with anyone who holds it in high regard. Since 2009, I've been crisscrossing Flanders as an independent acoustic consultant. As recently as 2023, I took on this role full-time by joining the team of the Belgian circular startup, Akoestiekfabriek. Over the years, I've also derived great pleasure from delivering guest lectures and hands-on practical sessions at colleges and art academies. What began as a specific fascination with music has since blossomed into a deep-seated passion for all facets of sound. After all, sound is ubiquitous. Without well-crafted acoustics, everything can devolve into mere noise, and noise is a source of stress, not only for humans but for all living beings. With the right acoustic solutions, sound can be profoundly moving and remarkably unifying, even therapeutic. Together, we can make it so, for all to enjoy.
