At the crossroads of developmental biology and regenerative medicine. Our group mainly studies muscle regeneration and development in a comparative approach using the mouse as a model organism. The ultimate goal of our work is to elucidate molecular mechanisms of tissue regeneration and disease-caused degeneration in to design strategies for treating degenerative disorders of the locomotory system.
