About Signe Risom

I’m currently working as a senior researcher at Herlev-Gentofte Hospital and as an associate professor at University College Copenhagen and University of Copenhagen. I am former a cardiac nurse and after finishing my Ph.D. I worked in a post.doc position and as a clinical nurse specialist. From those positions I have gained knowledge and experience with clinical work, research and project management. My research has always been focused on patient’s perspectives on life with heart disease. I have carried out systematic Cochrane reviews, nationwide surveys, interventional studies and qualitative research. I have been the chair of a National Clinical Guideline in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of health-professionals from around the country and in collaboration with the Danish Health Authority’s. I have had several research-stays in the U.K. and the U.S. and have a large international network. I am a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA) and a member of the Programme Committee at the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professions (ACNAP) at European Society of Cardiology.
