About Silvia Testi

As a dedicated advocate with a strong passion for EU Law, Human Rights, and Refugee Law, I am eager to contribute my growing expertise to the legal field. My academic journey culminated in a thesis focusing on the principle of Mutual Trust and the protection of Fundamental Rights in the EU. Professionally, I started working seven months at the Tribunal of Florence, where I honed my legal skills. Subsequently, I served as a legal intern at 'The HOME Project,' providing legal support for numerous cases involving unaccompanied minors. Building on this foundation, I completed a course at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, deepening my understanding of Advocacy and its impact on the political debate. My current role as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission in Brussels is allowing me to contribute actively to topics related to fundamental rights, specifically on Children's Rights. Prior to this, I worked as a Trainee Lawyer in two law firms, contributing support in various legal domains, including international and criminal law. My role involved support tasks to submissions to the European Court of Human Rights, Criminal Law cases, and International Protection matters. My commitment to human rights advocacy led me to intern at The HOME Project in Athens, where I played a crucial role in drafting Best Interest Assessments for children seeking family reunification and providing legal support through case-law. I also had the privilege of interning at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in Brussels, where I contributed to strategic litigation on refugee law and EU law issues. I am now eagerly anticipating my next professional opportunity, leveraging my diverse experiences and skills in EU Law, Human Rights, and Refugee Law to make a meaningful impact on the legal landscape.
