About Sim Zanker

As a very experienced member of British Airways’ Cabin Crew. I have been lucky enough to travel to and work in 70 countries on six continents and revel in exploring and learning about new cultures. I strongly believe in the importance of cultural understanding in serving customers to high levels of excellence. My professional growth and skills development have been entirely customer centric. I enjoy being a trusted brand ambassador and connecting Britain with the World and the World with Britain! As well as keeping customers safe in the air, I make them feel welcome and special by being authentic and engaged, a friendly welcoming face who intuitively knows when I’m needed. I am also a team player who pulls together with colleagues whenever the situation demands, a dedicated professional who doesn’t drop her standards or customer diplomacy even at the end of a long shift. I am cool under pressure and good at dealing with emergencies and service problems and delays. I thrive in physically and emotionally demanding roles with a high degree of responsibility. Resilient and adaptable, I am used to performing in different environments whilst maintaining brand, safety and hospitality standards and dealing with people from all walks of life, social and economic backgrounds. My command of Cantonese enables me to engage and serve a large proportion of the Asian market along with Western customer bases. Being a mother, the disruptive nature of a flying career has made me highly organised and flexible in planning and in managing my work/life balance. In addition to my BA role, I more recently joined the hospitality team at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium in order to expand my hospitality and team management experience and to apply my skills in a different industry. I also do occasional work as an extra in film and TV productions simply because it’s a huge amount of fun and a good antidote to the pressures of delivering professional hospitality at feet!
