About Simar Brar
A brief introduction about myself, I am a Military Brat, have been working as an editor/assistant editor for about 8 years. Decided to move to Toronto, Canada, and pursue an advanced diploma in Film Production programme at the Toronto Film School to enrich my knowledge and broaden my horizons of varied aspects of world cinema. In 2017, produced and edited 8 short films and then got the opportunity to work for my Dream Channel, Discovery Communications India, edited over 4 advertisements for them. Post experiencing Mumbai, I shifted to Delhi and teamed up with brands like BMW and Mercedes for their social media platforms campaigns. The Base (Adidas) shooting and editing the football matches presented on Instagram was led by me. Was the head editor for a documentary directed by Siddhanth Chawla titled "Mountain fireflies". Edited the main film as well the trailer. This film was selected amongst the top 30 Documentary films at the Prague International Film Festival 2018.
