About Simi Jentry

With a background in Actuarial Science where she graduated top of her class, Simi has always had a myriad of interests and has applied her skills in many industries. Apart from being a student actuary, she is a Datacamp and HarvardX certified data analyst professional, a qualification which she has applied to solve business problems in the InsurTech and FinTech sectors, as well as to improve actuarial processes in the insurance industry. She served in multiple capacities in the Actuarial Club of the University of Lagos for 3 years, where she organized tutorials and programs aimed at improving the academic welfare, technical and soft skills of students in the department. She also led the Cowrywise Campus Ambassadors data team for a year where she aided the up skilling of data professionals of all levels. Her technical skills include proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel for data analysis, and Tableau and Metabase for dashboard development. She is passionate about global development, achieving SDGs 1, 2,3, 5, 8 & 13, and community building. She currently works in the Microinsurance (MI) space, conducting valuable research and developing data-driven solutions aimed at building resilience and mitigating climate-related risks in low-income communities.
