About Simo Ojanen
I'm working as a medical physicist in the radiology unit at Jyväskylä central hospital. I got my medical physicist training at Turku University Central Hospital, in which I was working in the radiology and radiation therapy unit, and Satakunta central hospital, where I worked in the department of nuclear medicine and clinical physiology. I graduated as PhD (major medical physics) from the Department of Applied Physics, University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio in July 2022. The PhD project was done in a field of medical physics in University of Eastern Finland (Biophysics of Bone and Cartilage research group) with collaboration of University of Oulu (Research Unit of Medical Imaging, Physics and Technology). In the PhD project I studied the effect of anterior cruciate ligament injury to the progression of osteoarthritis (OA) in a knee joint and to see the very early changes in articular cartilage and cartilage cells. My main professional interest lays on medical physics and its applications in both research and clinical setting.
