Not a finance stereotype, I have seen myself gain experience leading diverse teams across various multinational companies achieving great results in exceptionally challenging economic climates and along with that building strong social acumen and leadership skills. A qualified Chartered Accountant by profession, I am a practical and astute professional who draws inspiration from finding solutions when faced with complex and unfamiliar problems, attributing my successes to the incredible teams that I have had the privilege not only to lead but work alongside. Having spent many years working across Africa’s South, East & Central markets and for a period of time living in Nairobi, Kenya – my ability and passion to respect and understand how best to work with and achieve the best results across cultural nuances is something I am very proud of. My latest adventure sees me attempting to apply these learnt experiences in a developed economy, relocating in 2023 to Melbourne, Australia. I am deeply passionate about Africa and more so in developing its considerable talent, combining best practices with local knowledge to bring about optimum results not only for businesses but also for those that I work with. I am now attempting to apply these learnings in a new market, with a new context, but with a similar abundance in talent and opportunity. Not uncomfortable with challenging the status quo, I firmly believe that the sum of all the parts is always going to be greater than the whole and that in speaking up, giving ideas the platform to be heard and not being afraid to make mistakes, companies and the individuals that work in them can continue to evolve, push boundaries and most importantly remain relevant.
