About Simon Allin

Im an experienced UI/UX designer/developer, currently with more of a focus on UX/UI design although still collaborating directly with the development team on code/styling. I have been working in the public relations and communications industries for nearly 10 years designing and building services that help improve PR's and Journalists professional workflow. Im currently working on an extensive UX/UI project for the Vuelio PR software platform. My Focus is on improving all core user journeys and building a new UI pattern library to role out throughout the service. Some notable past projects include- Complete redesign/rebuild of the ResponseSource media database that lets users search, organise and communicate with media outlets and contacts- Work on the UK’s number 1 journalist enquiries service, letting journalists send requests to a network of paid subscribers. Last year we sent out over emails- Redesigning the ResponseSource marketing portal including marketing landing pages, media news, blog and client case studies sections helping to increase new business leads as well as improve visual identity across the board- Research work to diagnose key flaws in the ResponseSource navigation flow and client login user journey. I designed and implemented a brand new navigation user interface and overhauled the UX with the result of improved client service usage and reduction in user frustration. I have extensive experience with core industry design software including Sketch, Adobe CC (Illustrator/Photoshop/Fireworks/Indesign/XD) combined with Invision & Zeplin. I am also an experienced developer working in high quality HTML and CSS. Im passionate about embracing modern CSS methodologies.
