Executive Director, Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd – Our first UK centre is Fraunhofer Centre for Applied Photonics. Fraunhofer CAP (est.2012) is recognised as a world-class centre of excellence in photonics and quantum technologies. We also seek to establish Fraunhofer Centres in other technical areas where they would be additional to the UK’s innovation landscape. Chair, AIRTO Ltd - the UK’s organisation for Research and Technology Organisations, a sector which includes many not-for-profits, Public Sector Research Establishments, National Laboratories and other independent research organisations. AIRTO members have an astonishing set of capabilities to offer UK industry. Trustee, Glasgow Science Centre – is a key part of delivering the future STEM workforce that society and economy needs. Their sector leading work (within and well beyond the amazing GSC) and ambitious plans continue to help shape the workforce skills agenda in Scotland. Non-Exec Director, Technology Scotland Ltd - who cluster manage Photonics Scotland, Product Design Scotland and MaaS. This lean and effective team ensure that our clusters thrive. Non-Exec Director, Photonics Leadership Group Ltd – the PLG are the voice of the UK photonics industry. I am a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Physicist, and Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
