About Simon Backlund
As an artist with a strong eye for detail and visuals I have been working as a compositor for the past 3 years at Chimney in Stockholm and Los Angeles working on both feature films and commercials. Together with the Stockholm team we won an award at Guldbaggen for best visual effects on a feature. After feeling the need for some abroad experience I moved from Sweden and joined the LA team, taking on a lead role where I mostly worked on commercials with brands such as: Lexus, Dodge and MGM. Moving forward I want to learn more Houdini and take my skills as a compositor and photographer to produce my own vfx short films. When I am not working I go out taking photos and making films with my beloved vintage lenses or try to dive in and learn Houdini.
