Following thirty years service with Sussex Police, mostly as a detective in serious crime, I am now established in the field of sports safety. I am currently the Matchday Safety Officer with Sussex Cricket, where I am responsible for all safety and security matters, not only on matchday, but also concerts. This included the recent Michael Bublé concert attended by people. I employ a team of 64, which include supervision and stewards I am also the Stand Manager for the new Riverside Stand at Craven Cottage where, once again, I am responsible for safety and security, but report to the Head of Safety, Chris Baker. I have a team of 3 supervisors and 60 stewards for each match played. I am qualified to NVQ L4 in spectator safety management. I also maintain my skills in assessment and training holding NVQ3 in both.
