About Simon Berge
I am a MSc graduate from the Stellenbosch University Department of Biochemistry with a background in the production, purification and analysis of naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides. My research focused on the production of novel antibiotic agents to combat the ever growing problem of antibiotic resistance.Following my MSc I undertook a position at the Stellenbosch University based BIOPEP group, a small but dynamic company focusing on commercial peptide production and quality control. Here I learnt the rigorous demands of delivering an industry standard product.Personally I am a motivated individual who enjoys working with others while finding new ways to integrate different expertise and backgrounds towards a common goal.
