About Simon Bogdanov

I'm a generalist with strong technical foundations across all layers of technology stack. When on-boarded, I manage to get myself going immediately because of patterns I draw from my personal experience and professional experience. To expand, I have a strong foundation in software engineering and the hardware side of things. When an app is deployed, in my head it's not just code that I write in an IDE; There's hardware which enables data to go from one end to the other, be transformed maybe somewhere in the middle, and then action-ed on / stored. This generalist approach is evident in my career trajectory. Every company/organization I've worked for, I end up adopting multiple hats. SAAB, I initially joined as a QA Engineer, however because in my first week I already had my environment setup on my own and was debugging bugs, my peers put me into development as-well. In my first 2 months, I was given a project where I revived a very old module just by reverse engineering and following my process. Later I developed an internal tool for them to assist in QA and also did IT work with CI/CD management on the side. As you can see just from this one experience, I quickly can evolve to taking on multiple roles. At Telus, similar story. Came in as an analyst, exited as someone who had a guest lecture at the University of Toronto, multiple projects in development completed, and full integration of a new framework for their team. Transport Canada, similar story; I was supposed to be IT and did do a lot of IT, but ended up engineering solutions to streamline their process. No matter the language, framework, or environment in general, I have absolutely zero problems adapting and quickly providing value. That's where you will find most of my value. I will fill the organizational needs as they arise and can adapt really quickly to changes. From the business end, you gain a lot of value for what I cost. Lets connect!
