About Simon Bruntse Andersen

I have a huge interest and passion for working within the life science industry and making the world better and healthier through data and innovation. I strive to make a strong positive impact in whatever I do. Currently, I work as CEO in the MedTech company, SYNCSENSE ApS. We are developing VR-supported digital therapeutics aimed at preventing and treating institution- and hospital-acquired complications from prolonged physical inactivity. Over the past year we have grown into the largest VR platform for physical and cognitive exercise within healthcare in the Nordics and potentially also Europe. We are improving the lives of thousands of patients and citizens and we are training hundreds of healthcare professionals. In +10 years, I have worked on the edge between research, business and IT for the life science industry. My DNA is anchored in Human-Computer Interaction research and project management. It is twisted with my experience in founding and operating several startup companies. Today I also love paying back to the entrepreneurial ecosystem as Advisor and Entrepreneur In Residence at the New Innovation Center of University of Copenhagen. Other affiliations; Adjunct Professor of IT innovation. Board Member in a European NGO advancing patient-centered health innovation and more board positions. I have a 6-year multidisciplinary educational background in health, medicine and computer engineering as well as in IT innovation management and entrepreneurship from University of Copenhagen and Technical University of Denmark. Strengthened with one year of international experience from two of the best universities in Canada and China; McMaster University and Nottingham University Business School China. It gives me a unique perspective and approach enabling me to work on the edge between research, business and IT for the life science industry. My strength lies in my multidisciplinary skills and within my structured and consensus driven approach to solving problems in interprofessional teams as the project manager. I do this in a constructive and positive way - even when projects get tough. My aim is always to find the simple solution to the complex problems. On a final sporty note. I have for +15 years been an elite athlete. I am former national champion in ironman triathlon and national team member. In my early youth I participated the national championship in football and badminton too. I use my professional elite sport mindset in the way I thrive in high-performance teams (always as a team player), always seek improvements, and get things done.
