About Simon Bush

Through my extensive career in public health, with a special focus on the elimination and control of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), I have become a globally recognized expert, particularly noted for my work across Africa. My strategic leadership and innovative programme management have been pivotal in directing large-scale health initiatives, which is underscored by the successful delivery of nearly 2 billion treatments and pioneering groundbreaking global health mapping for trachoma. My ability to foster strategic alliances has been instrumental in advocating for public health causes on both continental and international levels, alongside efficiently managing substantial grant programmes. My adeptness at navigating complex geopolitical landscapes, coupled with proven diplomatic skills, has enabled me to establish and expand operations in challenging environments, marking significant advancements in global health efforts. My career is also distinguished by a wealth of experience from positions on boards, including a significant tenure (ten years) as a board member, including a term as President, of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. This highlights not only peer recognition but also my leadership in driving forward global health advancements.
