About Simon Carbery

I'm a Partner in the Audit department of BDO Ireland, the World’s largest Europe-based accountancy network operating in 164 countries, with people working out of 1,803 offices worldwide. I joined BDO in October 2007 and completed my training contract in March 2011. I continued with the firm post qualification and has since progressed within the firm to Audit Partner. As a audit partner I take responsibility for audit work including the signing of audit reports. I am is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA). My client portfolio includes a number of international companies together with large and medium sized indigenous Irish companies. Client sectors include: • Charity & Not For Profit • Education • Retail I have extensive experience in delivering a thorough and robust audit, while at the same time giving the owners / management valuable feedback on the key audit findings and on recommendations for how improvements can be made. Within BDO, I work closely with both the training committee and the innovation committee, in particular looking at ways to improve efficiency on audits.
