Nearly 20 years' experience advising developers, investors, banks and governments on corporate transactions and large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. Significant experience with renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro, waste-to-energy), conventional thermal power, energy storage, telecommunications infrastructure, oil and gas, casinos, hotels and resorts, rail infrastructure, and sporting stadiums. In the power sector, Simon has advised on 40+ project development, financing and M&A matters involving 50GW+ of capacity. In the past 3 years alone, Simon advised on US$9+ bn of Asia Pac energy M&A deals involving 14GW of capacity across 200+ power projects and 11 regional import terminals in 10 countries. In recognition of his market standing, Law360 named Simon as an “Energy MVP” last year - he was one of only 5 energy lawyers to receive this recognition globally, and the only one located outside of the United States.
