I am a state-certified upper secondary teacher in Danish with over 11 years of language teaching experience. Being closely involved in school politics, I have a solid knowledge of how the Icelandic upper secondary education system functions. For the past four years, I have been working within the Icelandic Teachers' Labor Union (Kennarasamband Íslands), where I have participated in various projects, e.g, development of labor union agreements, drafting a framework for teachers competence in the Icelandic language, evaluation and further development of the MT degree at the University of Iceland. My interest in employee rights has led me to pursue an MS degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Iceland, from which I graduated in 2021 with first class grade.
