About Simon Crowther

As an engineer and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in flood management, drainage, and environmental protection, I lead The FPS Group® as its CEO and founder. Our mission is to engineer innovative solutions that mitigate flood risks while safeguarding communities and the environment. I am a Chartered Water & Environmental Manager and Fellow of CIWEM, with a degree in Civil Engineering. My work has been recognised with various awards, including Forbes 30 Under 30 and Attitude Magazine’s 101. At FPS Environmental Ltd, I led the company to become an Environment Agency Framework Partner, working on Property Flood Resilience Risk Assessments. As part of this process, I engaged with the Cabinet Office, providing feedback that was taken to Downing Street as evidence for the Procurement Act 2023. In 2022, I helped launch Build Back Better by Flood Re to Parliament, advocating for more resilient property flood insurance. I also regularly contribute to national policy discussions through Bricks & Water with Policy Connect, providing evidence to Parliament on flood resilience. Beyond flood risk, my interests span business, civil engineering, and mental health. I share insights through my monthly column in Elite Business Magazine and leverage video content to educate and engage wider audiences. As someone who experienced flooding firsthand in 2007, I’m passionate about raising awareness, supporting resilience efforts, and mentoring the next generation of STEM leaders. My goal is to drive change, making the world safer, more connected, and better prepared for future challenges.
