About Simon di Nucci

Simon has spent more than 25 years as a system safety engineer, and has taught safety to hundreds of people, both in the classroom and online. Simon was part of the team that taught the official safety engineering courses to UK Ministry of Defence staff. He then went on to create bespoke safety courses for several project teams and the UK Military Aviation Authority. He now teaches Australian WHS and safety engineering to his colleagues in Frazer-Nash Consultancy. To do this, he has drawn on his wide and deep experience in safety consulting and engineering. Much of his career has been working for governments or consulting to the public sector on Australian, UK, US and European programs. Simon’s expertise is in four main areas:> Seaworthiness (Operational Effectiveness, Safety and Environmental Protection);> Systems and software safety in multiple domains;> Airworthiness and aircraft safety; and > Support engineering and planning for software and data. His experience includes work on submarines, fast jets, large aircraft, helicopters, ISTAR/EW platforms, vehicles, Communications Information Systems (CIS), avionics and sensors. His wide experience of projects varies from the small, through to some of the largest multi-national defence programs ever undertaken. Simon has been a Chartered Engineer since 1997 and has presented to international conferences in Australia, the US, UK and Canada on Seaworthiness, system safety, ship-air integration and software support. Simon has more than 25 years’ experience in managing and advising organizations on safety-and-software-related engineering.
