Trained as a exploration geologist but very quickly realised that it was far too tough for a namby-pamby like me so I have spent the last 15 years in various mining finance roles. First was 3 years in corporate finance / M&A (metals and mining specific of course), then 4 years as a sell-side mining analyst followed by almost 5 years as a buy-side Metals & Mining analyst for Investec Asset Management, and most recently 2.5 years back on the sell-side with Peel Hunt as Spec-Sales and then Mining Analyst.
