About Simon Girard

Simon Girard is a Partner in the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young (EY) and lead the practice for Canada. As a Partner, Simon provides consulting services to life and health insurers in the areas of actuarial valuation, financial modeling, model validation, actuarial transformation, actuarial audit and peer review. Simon is the appointed actuary for the Canadian subsidiary of a large US mutual insurance company and the peer-reviewer of the appointed actuary work for several life insurers in Canada. Simon is currently assisting several Canadian financial institutions in their actuarial and finance transformation by providing them with strategic advice and innovative solutions. With his in-depth expertise and knowledge of industry best practices, he helps these institutions optimize their processes, improve their operational efficiency, and comply with evolving regulatory requirements. Simon plays a key role in implementing advanced technologies and modern methodologies to enable his clients to remain competitive and achieve their long-term goals. Simon is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
