About Simon Grosser

Currently director of his own consulting company, Simon J Grosser & Associates Pty Ltd, Simon provides management and technical services, specialising in the composites industry and is currently employed through SJG & Associates as the Chief Operating Officer for Premier Composite Technologies Ltd in Dubai. Making the move from Adelaide to Sydney in 1987, Simon was appointed Managing Director of SP Systems Australasia, a wholly owned subsidiary with regional responsibility for key market segments of Marine, Automotive, Wind Energy and Civil Engineering. In 2003, whilst continuing in his responsibilities as CEO of the Australian subsidiary Simon assumed global responsibility as the Marine Market leader. At the end of 2007, Simon retired from SP Systems (now Gurit) and began work as an independent consultant. Simon maintains a keen interest, as is a known figure, in the Australian sailing industry. He is currently a board member of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Sydney and in 2002, established the Newport Foundation, a group committed to encouraging sailing in the younger generations. Currently, Simon is spearheading a campaign to see an Australian Team in the next America's Cup (Team Australia Challenge or TAC Racing).
