I have been a Financial Adviser since 1988, joining the industry just before a major downturn in the economy, seeing through the boom and bust of the Nineties, the dotcom bubble and of course 9/11. Now we find ourselves in unprecedented times of Covid and government intervention. Ultra low interest rates, money printing to save the economy and the threat of more taxation in the future to pay for it all. We have no crystal ball to predict the future so we all need careful planning and value for money from our investments and financial products going forward. All too often I come across clients who have policies and accounts they set up years ago, paying little or no interest or costing more than they would today.
