About Simon Harris

I have worked at a senior level of management within the NHS for 18 years as a commissioner and as a provider, most recently as an Executive Director at Board level. I have significant knowledge and experience of operationally, strategically and clinically in provider and commissioner organisations and directly overseeing urgent/unplanned care services. Being a practising clinician means I can utilise my clinical knowledge to ensure that operational decisions are aligned to my core values and that it starts and ends with the patient. I am dedicated to the NHS and believe that we have the best health system in the world and that we can using the right improvement techniques enhanced services and the care that we deliver to our patients. I have led and managed several large teams (c600 staff) across various sites both locally and regionally, managed significant budgets (c£30m-£200m), worked with system partners to develop patient pathways and emergency preparedness and I am confident that wide knowledge of quality, patient safety, provider management relationships as well as significant transformational change management experience.
