About Simon Herzog

FOCUS: Helping organizations make better decisions through strategy and design interventions and training. I translate across cultures and disciplines to bridge the gaps between design, strategy, and business. EXPERIENCE: Service design, experience design, and strategy for Google X, Novo Nordisk, Microsoft, LEGO, the Red Cross, Maersk, the UAE and Singapore governments, among others. Bird's eye view of the startup ecosystem, first at an early-stage investment platform, then as a pitch coach, then building and managing a new incubator and mentoring 25+ startups. Content and business development in multiple venture-backed startups. People-centered research in challenging environments (prison for drug addicts, Chicago housing projects, cancer patients, Japanese unemployed youth). Creating and delivering design training for private sector and governments. PASSIONS: I'm inspired by understanding people's behaviors, motivations, and challenges and taking action to address them. I strongly believe that true change and innovation always requires a bridging of different perspectives and disciplines. Privately I’m fascinated by Early Northern Renaissance art, birds of prey, and history. I collect airplane safety cards and cook East Asian noodle dishes. CURRENT WORK: Growing Anglemap, a global insights and training agency. Mentoring startups at a Danish incubator. Teaching, talks, and training in Singapore, China, India, Japan, Israel, Peru, Greece, and elsewhere. Collaborating on projects in art and design.
