About Simon Hillier

Hi I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who qualified 20 years ago at St Charles Hospital as a Hypnotherapist and then went on to gain my qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Crisis, Trauma, and PTSD Counselling at the highly regarded Centre for Stress Management (London) where i also qualified in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). I was attached to the Trauma Support Centre in Bromley where the team were on call in the event of a critical incident. This would involve major incidents such as a train derailment. After working in this environment for a number of years I started my own private practice. In conjunction with my private practice I worked as an NHS Counsellor at Hatton Medical Practice dealing with a wide range of issues. The presenting problems spanned from mild depression to thoughts of suicide. In 2011 I had been running Workshops on Confidence Building, Assertiveness Training, Anger Management, Self Esteem and Stop Smoking Groups based at a Mental Health Day Centre in Hounslow (West London). I have been working hard to build up my expertise and knowledge in working with Trauma and PTSD and am now a fully qualified Clinical Traumatologist and also a fully qualified Clinical Trauma Professional via the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) I am also a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) and hold a Certificate in Advanced Training in Traumatic Stress Studies.
