About Simon Holden

Working in the outdoor recreation and snow sports industry for over 25 years, I have grown from part time instructor through to managing large Mountain Sports and Recreational Programs departments overseeing snow school, competitive programs, rentals, retail, repair, terrain park operations, mountain hosts, partner club relationships and all of the associated programming. In the summer months my experience lies with summer day camps, mountain bike programs, trail development and maintenance, events promotion, parks and campground management, and busy equipment rental operations. My success has hinged on a keen understanding of programming and staffing needs, efficient delivery of programs and a strong grasp of short and long term operational and capital budgeting implications. I also hold many certifications across a broad range of winter and summer disciplines and as one of only a handful of pros to be certified by both the CSIA and CASI at the highest level and as a leading trainer with CASI, CSIA and PMBIA I have a good insight in to all aspects of a resort's programming and training needs. I have been continuously involved in monitoring and shaping industry trends as a member of the CASI National Technical Team, the CSIA Ontario Board of Directors and as an instructor in the Snow Resort Operations program at Georgian College, all of which exposed me to the many diverse demands of the various user groups within the outdoor recreation industry.
