About Simon Holliday

Over the course of my career spanning 21 years plus to date, I have gained experience on many projects of various size and magnitude from projects such as the Stadium of Light Leisure Facility and the external car park at Balliol Business Park in Newcastle working my way up from an assistant engineer under direct supervision to an experienced engineer. Recently with AECOM I have developed to become more involved in the commercial side of the business. I have always had an awareness of commercial requirements contributing through daily reports, producing Bills of Quantities and writing up reports for proposed works. Now I have a more direct role as a Deputy Project Manager. I submit fee proposals to AECOM's Clients then once approved I set up the Projects on AECOM's project management system. I assign budgets and complete Risk Assessments for each project then monitor the Project through to completion and issue invoices to our billing team for forwarding onto the respective Client. I have also had some experience in using the Highway England’s onsite financial reporting system which brings together the compensation events and early warnings to produce payment certificates for the various stages of a project. I have a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety which enables me to act as a Health & Safety Consultant ensuring that AECOM as the Principal Designer, the Client and the Principal Contractor are all aware of their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015. I produce and issue Pre-Construction Information, liaise with all parties during the Construction Phase and compile the Health & Safety file at the end of a project. I am currently undertaking further studies to allow me to become a Chartered Engineer.
