About Simon Hong

I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information Systems at the University of Utah, with an expected graduation date of August 2025. Although my academic background is in information systems, I have a strong interest in finance and aspire to build a career in investment banking. To support this goal, I am currently preparing for the CFA designation. Combining my financial knowledge with technical skills gained during my graduate studies, I utilize tools such as SQL, Python, R Studio, and Power BI to manage and visualize financial data. I am passionate about leveraging these capabilities to support data-driven investment decisions and uncover actionable insights. As a Venture Capital Intern at TribeAngels, I applied my data analysis and financial research skills to evaluate investment opportunities and industry trends. I conducted weekly market and financial analysis on ten venture capital and private equity firms and compiled detailed reports using Airtable. I also reviewed weekly publications from the CFA Institute, Goldman Sachs, and Bloomberg to stay informed on current financial developments. My work contributed to strategic discussions during quarterly CEO Summits and supported collaboration across portfolio companies. I am from South Korea and am interested in playing soccer, the cello, traveling, and investing tec. As an enterprising and passionate student, I am always ready to embrace new challenges with enthusiasm and determination.
