About Simon Jarrett

I own and run Delphi Consulting Ltd, a business specialising in software optimisation, digital transformation, and business process / change management. We work with law firms around the world who are using or implementing the Elite 3E platform and associated software stack. In my previous role as Global Consulting Standards Manager at Thomson Reuters Elite (now Elite Technology), I enjoyed telling consultants what to do and how to do it. Probably because for 15 years before that I *was* a consultant. Or maybe just because I’m South African. As part of my job, I developed best practices and implementation strategies for Elite’s consultants worldwide. I also jumped in from time to time to help implement and optimize Elite's cloud-based 3E financial and practice management software for global law firms. After all, I’d spent 15+ years implementing Enterprise and 3E with large law firms worldwide. That has to be useful, right? I leveraged my 3E cloud certification and all those years of consulting experience to help consultants (and project managers) deal with new scenarios and tricky software configurations, and ultimately try to meet the client’s needs and expectations. Occasionally I even succeeded. I used to be shy. Now I’ll talk to anyone. Even lawyers. I am a seasoned speaker, writer and trainer, having delivered talks, presentations, white papers and workshops at various international and regional Elite user conferences. I’ve also been invited to speak at law firm management seminars and away days, where I share my experiences and expertise on topics such as artificial intelligence in law, legal market trends, legal tech adoption, and South African wine. With a varied background in chauffeuring, radio & television presenting, accountancy, bartending, IT management, and of course software consulting, I communicate well across cultural boundaries and business silos. While I don’t drive anymore and haven’t done a radio show in about 25 years, I can explain double-entry bookkeeping to lawyers and I can explain lawyering to accountants. I do occasionally make training videos and other content. I also make a mean Old Fashioned. When Elite was bought by private equity in 2023, I was made redundant, moved to Luxembourg, learned passable French, spent months looking for a new gig, and finally took the plunge and founded my own company.
