I am a respected advocate, advisor and mediation counsel. My approach is strategic, clear and pragmatic. I have good commercial judgment. I have a broad regulatory and commercial litigation practice, focusing on competition law, financial regulation under the and Financial Markets Conduct Act, insurance law and construction disputes. My practice also includes contractual, tort, property and leasing disputes. Over more than 25 years, I have has appeared before all courts, in arbitrations, Construction Contracts Act adjudications and acted as counsel in many regulatory investigations. I am recognised by the major legal directories for dispute resolution, competition, construction and insurance law. The Legal500 says I am an “Experienced litigator and highly strategic. Outside practice, I am the Director of Research of the Legal Research Foundation, a trustee of the Mackelvie Trust at the Auckland Art Gallery and of the Spencer Mason Trust, and the Chair of the Judicial Tribunal for Athletics New Zealand.‍
