Sedimentologist and sequence stratigrapher with petroleum, coal, mineral, marine geology experience including 13 years of geological mapping experience (GSQ); 13 years of teaching, research and consulting experience and leading industry-funded research consortia on reservoir characterisation; and 7 years industry experience at Woodside Energy advising on all aspects of reservoir-related sedimetology and stratigraphy for exploration play/prospect analysis and reservoir modeling of Woodside assets (all NWShelf - Carnarvon-Canning-Browse-Bonaparte; Otway, Mauritania, Libya - Sirte & Murzok-Ghadames, Korea, GoM USA and Santos basin Brazil, et al.). Leading team of 10 geoscientists and conductiing internal consulting services to Woodside assets and JVP, including advising R&D on reservoir characterisation and modelling, and basin evoution and applied seismic-sequence stratigraphy. Joined Chevron Energy Technology Company in Feb. 2013 (Houston) to the Seismic Geomorphology team on a global scope of projects as a consulting senior stratigrapher (Angola, Australia, Azerbaijan, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, New Zealand, West Shetlands, USA), providing training courses in stratigraphy & seismic stratigraphy, and field courses co-led with Henry Posamentier in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Joined Chevron Australia in mid 2015 as Stratigraphy Adviser, and Manager of Geological Services. Work included advising on regional exploration and development stratigraphy / reservoir sedimentology and model input issues of key fields (Gorgon, Io-Jansz, Wheatstone, Chyrsoa-Dionysus, CO2 injection) and seismic geomorphology of the Mungaroo and the Great Australian Bight and the Pegasus basin, NZ. Co-lead fieldwork in western Mynamar, and the Swan Valley around Perth. In Nov 2019, I joined the University of Western Australia as Professor of Petroleum Geoscience and Director of the Centre for Energy Geoscience.
