About Simon Leong

Simon’s core competencies are in the power electrical industry mainly for Airports, Education, Hospital, Industrial, Manufacturing, Office, Retail. Residential and Warehouse. He also have experienced in Energy Audits for commercial and industrial facilities. Sustainability is also an active portfolio of his by designing and implementing high efficiency LED lights for Energy Efficiency. Since 1997, he has been an active member of The Electrical and Electronic Association of Malaysia (TEEAM), held various positions such as Vice President and Chairman of Manufacturing. His last position in TEEAM is the Honorary Secretary for the term 2023 to 2025. He was a committee member in Malaysia CIE (MyCIE) Malaysia Chapter for the illumination industry. Drawing from his experience, he represented MyCIE as a member of the Working Committee in SIRIM Malaysia to draft standards for the lighting industry. He is currently a member of MS1525 Task Force 9 for the revision of Energy Management System in the Malaysia Standard. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering (Hons) from University of Missouri – Columbia, USA. An engineer by qualification, his profession is registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and also a graduate member of Institute Engineers Malaysia (IEM). He has years of experience in manufacturing of low voltage switchgears and maintenance of low voltage electrical systems. His Professional and Competency certificates issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia (ST) or Energy Commission of Malaysia are Registered Energy Manager Type 2, Wireman PW4 and Chargeman BO. He is also a Certified Energy Manager issued by ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE). He is a Certified Trainer with HRD Corporation. He possesses expertise in vertical transportation industry. He provides technical and electrical power system consultancy with emphasis on electrical safety and safety & health (OSH) for the elevator industry. He was one of the product designer for the Emergency Battery Operated Power Supply (EBOPS) made locally.
