About Simon Mallet

I am a Test and Assembly Technician at Moog Inc, a global leader in designing and manufacturing precision motion control products and systems for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. I have over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, and servicing of various aircraft components and systems, including ordinance, ejection seats, aircrew assisted escape systems, air launched munitions, role equipment, hydraulic linear actuators, and composite hydraulically operated gearboxes. I am also an IOSH certified professional with a sound understanding of engineering drawing interpretation and use, bills of material, and work instruction/SOP use, review, and composition. Prior to joining Moog Inc. in 2019, I worked as an Assembly Technician at Collins Aerospace, where I assembled and tested aircraft actuator assemblies and associated components for the commercial aviation sector. Before that, I was an Assistant Manager, Manufacturing at VA Technology Ltd, where I supervised a small team of technicians and engineers in producing investment castings for various industries. I also have a distinguished military background, having served 22 years in the RAF as a Weapons Mechanic and then Weapons Technician, performing first line aircraft operations, loading and fitting equipment, and delivering trade specific training to apprentices and experienced personnel. I have a passion for engineering and a commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
