About Simon Marsden

I started my career in the RAF as an aircraft technician, following this I spent twenty successful years in B2B technical sales, business development, including as a freelance consultant. From there ten years in IT service management and business development roles of critical communications systems used by the emergency services. Currently I'm involved with IMSM advising clients on the use of ISO management systems.I often come across the misapprehension ISOs are only relevant when tendering, or worth implementing if customers ask for them – while important, this is a narrow view in my opinion! ISO management systems offer so much more; they create structure and draw upon best practice to help in the direction and management of the organisation. They help improve efficiency and productivity and instil a culture of continuous improvement – putting meeting customers’ needs at centre of the organisation's focus. Ultimately this leads to satisfied customers that remain loyal and keep returning. When I’m not involved with the above, I’m earning brownie points helping my wife with her growing floral design business, otherwise I like to be out on the water surfing - using waves or wind - or mountain biking on the beautiful South Downs. I'm a keen maker of sough dough bread and have recently extended my music making, adding piano to the guitar.
