About Simon McGrath

A software engineer by training, I have spent the last 20 years starting, incubating and growing businesses in the media, entertainment and technology sector. Before starting my own software business I started my professional career as a strategy consultant, focused on the application of new technology to data, business modelling and strategy. With a strong commercial focus on product positioning, sales and marketing, revenue and profit development I have started, bought and sold numerous companies always with an emphasis on scalable growth around happy ROI for our customers and partners. Alongside exemplary delivery execution, this has involved designing and introducing pricing models for SaaS and professional services that marry the demands of customer capex/opex budgeting, cash flow, deal profitability and NPV growth of future recurring revenues. As a leader or collaborator in some brilliant teams I have built landmark new media businesses in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, Turkey and Brazil including Virgin Media Video On Demand, Virgin Media VOD Advertising, FilmFlex Movies (JV with Sony and Disney) and Hayu (NBCUniversal) bringing great content together with new technology distribution models. I have opened up and managed offices in the US, Singapore, Germany, Turkey, Dubai and Brazil. I live by the mantra that a team with the right values, leadership and belief in what it is doing will retain its identity and consistently outperform. And have fun along the way.
