Recoveries roles played in Debt management; Develop a calling program with debtors to negotiate on repayment plans either on phone or in the bank. • Offering borrowers viable recoveries options: taking into account debtors’ ability to service the outstanding debt, structure suitable repayment programs based on interest concessions, moratoriums, discounts, extending repayment period and capitalisation of arrears with a view to motivating debtors to willingly pay the debt therefore avoiding litigation/realization costs. • Preparing restructuring/ recovery credit proposal for necessary approval as per Banks’ approval matrix. • Monitor performance in line with agreed repayment proposals to ensure all instalments are paid. • Recommending the appropriate classification and levels of provision based on outstanding balance and value of security held. • Ensuring the various terms and conditions as stated vide the letter of offer are effected e.g. approved limits/interest rates/agreed waivers. • Issue demand and statutory notices as per Bank guidelines, Laws and Regulations. • Ensuring that relevant statutory notices are issued by the Bank, Bank’s lawyers /auctioneers to avoid counter suits and that they adhere to their respective Acts to avoid injunctions and counter suits by customers. • Preparation of documents required in court matters in liaison with Bank’s lawyers and attending court matters as bank witness. • Deal with and manage any contentious issues/complaints/queries/conflicts that normally arise during negotiation with the debtors during the recovery process. • Issuing instructions to service providers (auctioneers, external debt collectors, valuers, Receivers, Process Servers and investigators), on the Bank’s panel. • Vetting and processing service providers fee notes & forwarding them to Finance Division for settlement. • Pursue Insurance for compensation through HFIA for deceased, permanent disability, critical illness cases and under CRI. • Ensuring Life and Fire & burglary insurances are up stamped upon revaluations, capitalization and restructures. • Maintaining up to date Recoveries Progress Reports (RPR) • Preparing Departmental reports as appropriate. • Preparing a detailed call report for customer visits for loan restructures.
